Green Lane from Coombe Down
A rural view looking north-west from Coombe Down towards the junction of Green Lane and Brook Lane, recording the landscape and road pattern before the modern B2150 route was constructed at Three Corners.

Historical Information
The view is looking north-west towards the junction of Green Lane and Brook Lane, around 1910. The photograph is particularly significant for the evidence it provides about the development of the road network. It appears that the route of the modern B2150 had not yet been constructed at Three Corners, and the bend in which Three Corners would later be established is out of sight in the dip.
Today Green Lane is classified as the B2150 and continues north-northwest from its junction with West Street. At Three Corners it forks towards Chidden, while the B2150 continues through the downland landscape and ultimately connects with the A32 at Brockbridge. The earlier view therefore records a landscape before the modern road arrangement had been established.
The photograph also shows the rural character of the downland around Hambledon and the relationship between the historic lanes and the surrounding countryside.
