Mr Langtry is shown with his delivery cart outside his premises at the upper end of High Street around 1895. The building remains remarkably well preserved, although its former display of meat is no longer present.
The photograph provides a glimpse of the commercial life of High Street in the late nineteenth century, when the village street accommodated specialist trades and businesses alongside residential buildings. Descendants of Mr Langtry continue to live in the village.
